The Human Design Dream chart, calculated from the Moon
How the Dream chart differs from the standard Human Design chart: a Design side cast from the Moon, a 15-gate set, and what the API returns for it.
The standard Human Design chart has two halves. The Personality side is the sky at birth. The Design side is the sky at the moment the Sun stood 88 degrees of arc behind its birth position, which is about three months earlier.
The Dream chart keeps the Personality side and changes the Design side. It uses the moment the Moon stood 88 degrees behind its birth position. The Moon moves roughly 12 to 15 degrees a day, so that moment falls about 5.7 to 7.5 days before birth, not three months.
Only 15 gates count
A Dream chart reads 15 of the 64 gates: 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 20, 27, 28, 38, 42, 50, 53, 57 and 62. Every planet still has a position in both halves, but only a planet sitting in one of those gates is used. From those gates the chart works out which channels are complete and which centers are defined. Six channels are possible: 1-8, 5-15, 20-57, 27-50, 28-38 and 42-53.
There is no Type, Authority, Profile or Incarnation Cross on a Dream chart, because those depend on the full gate set.
What was checked
We compared our output with the published tables of one Human Design application for six births. Every gate and line matched, and all 15 gates appeared in the vendor's output at least once. That is one source, not two. The response says so: metadata.design_epoch.basis is vendor_parity.
Asking for it
POST /human-design/chart
{
"birth_datetime_utc": "1987-07-15T14:01:00Z",
"chart_variant": "dream"
}
The response keeps all 26 activation rows and marks each with in_variant. A request without chart_variant is answered exactly as before.
