Astrology Chart Widget for Squarespace: Two Lines of Code, Every Chart Becomes a Lead

You are sending Squarespace visitors off to a free chart site to "get their chart first," and most of them never come back. The free chart on your own site should be the thing that captures the email. Right now it is the thing that loses it.

Here is the fix, in the time it takes to add a Code block.

A quick word from me before the steps. Most of the people who write in about the widget are on Squarespace, usually with a beautiful site and a "get your chart here" link pointing somewhere else. That link is quietly costing you clients. Why it works on Squarespace specifically

The snippet is a two-line <script async> that swaps itself for an iframe served from embed.openephemeris.com. Async means it can never block your page from rendering; the iframe means it cannot fight Squarespace's own scripts or your template's CSS, which is the usual way third-party embeds break on 7.1 templates. Underneath it is the same engine that serves the OpenEphemeris API: NASA JPL's DE440 ephemeris for every position, and the Human Design bodygraph solved at exactly 88° of solar arc. Step by step on Squarespace (about ten minutes)

1. Check your Squarespace plan. Code blocks require Business or higher. Personal-plan sites do not run custom scripts, so the widget cannot load there. (Squarespace's own docs on Code blocks say the same.)
2. Create a free OpenEphemeris account and open Dashboard → Widgets → New widget. No card required.
3. Configure in the wizard: chart types (natal, bodygraph; the synastry bi-wheel is on Pro), house system, zodiac, body set, theme (light, dark, or mono), accent color, your logo.
4. Add your domain to the widget's allowlist, e.g. yoursite.com (or yoursite.squarespace.com while you are still on the built-in domain). This locks your key to your site.
5. Turn on the email gate. Leads go to your dashboard, your inbox, and CSV. On Pro, paste your Zapier or Make webhook URL in the delivery step and hit Send test to map the fields before a real lead arrives.
6. Copy the two-line snippet. Your widget ID and publishable key are already filled in.
7. In Squarespace: edit the page → Add Block → Code → paste → set the block's mode to HTML (the default) → Save.
8. Verify: open the page and confirm the chart form renders where you placed the block. The dashboard's install checker confirms it too.

Free widgets carry a small watermark on the chart and a "Powered by OpenEphemeris" link under it. That is the whole trade; white-label is one toggle on Pro. If your wallet hits zero the widget shows a "temporarily unavailable" card until you top up, which applies instantly. There is no overage billing on widgets, so a busy month can never bill you past what you agreed to, and you get an email when the balance runs low and another at zero.

Two Squarespace-specific notes

Code block vs. Code Injection. Use a Code block on the page where you want the chart, not Settings → Advanced → Code Injection. Injection puts the script in every page's header or footer, which is the wrong place for a chart that belongs in one spot.

Squarespace's built-in domain. If you are still on yoursite.squarespace.com, add that exact hostname to the widget's allowed domains. When you connect a custom domain later, add it too; the old one can stay.
